Lucille Kring's Ballot Statement OCCUPATION: Attorney/Businesswoman I’ve spoken to Anaheim residents who say the current city council is taking our city in the wrong direction; that Anaheim needs a councilmember who is a concerned leader, caring about our community and quality of life. While serving on council from 1998-2002, I improved our city by: Leading the successful effort to repeal a 2.85% utility tax, saving ratepayers $7,000,000/year. Never voting for tax increases. Voting for neighborhood beautification and revitalization projects. Increasing funds to improve sidewalks, streets, sewers, parks, libraries, and police & fire resources. Preserving open spaces in Anaheim Hills. Reducing crime: hired more police, strengthened community policing, kept INS officer at City Jail. When elected I will:
Find long-term solutions for local/regional traffic & transportation issues. Put interests of residents ahead of special interests. Work with schools to improve education and reduce juvenile crime. Avoid frivolous lawsuits, such as against the Angels, wasting millions of taxpayers’ dollars that should be used to hire more police. I serve on the boards of directors of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, Anaheim Family YMCA, Canyon Hills Community Council, Anaheim Police Activities League, Anaheim Memorial Medical Center and I am president of the Anaheim Rotary Club. Vote for Lucille Kring -- A Name You Know, A Woman You Trust. I would be honored to have your vote. |
